XFD514 is manufactured by AAT Bioquest, and has the same chemical structure to Alexa Fluor® 514 (ThermoFisher). It is a bright yellow-fluorescent dye that can be used to replace rhodamine 6G with dramatically improved water solubility. XFD514 dye is water soluble and pH-insensitive from pH 4 to pH 10. XFD514 acid is the most economic amine-reactive form for conjugating Alexa Fluor® 514 to a peptide.
